Jim Vallee was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in a special election in 1994 to serve the 10th Norfolk District, comprised of the Town of Franklin and precincts two, three and four in the Town of Medway. He has since been re-elected for seven terms, and he was appointed the Assistant Vice Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee this year for the second time.

Jim was the House Chairman of the Criminal Justice Committee for the 2003-2004 legislative session, where he worked to pass stricter drunk driving laws and penalties for sex offenders. He also serves as a member of the Elder Affairs Caucus, the Metro-West Caucus, the Children's Caucus and the Charles River Legislative Caucus. Jim also sits on the 495/MetroWest Corridor Partnership's Board of Directors.

About Jim Vallee

A Franklin native, Jim graduated from Franklin High School in 1984 and Providence College in 1988. He received a jurist doctorate in 1991. He worked as a prosecutor with the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office and is now a partner in the Franklin-based law firm of Cornetta, Ficco, Simmler & Vallee, LLP where he concentrates his practice in Commercial Real Estate and Land Use.

In 2007, Jim was awarded two Army Commendation Medals and the Global War on Terrorism Medal for his service in the Global War on Terror. He was awarded the 2003 National Conference of State Legislatures' Medal of Civic Honor for his efforts to combat global terrorism through Operation Enduring Freedom.

Jim lives in Franklin with his wife, Nadira, and their one-year-old daughter, Lucy.
